New Mattresses

Okay, we have been needing new mattresses for a LONG time now. Kris was able to hook us up with a good deal, so we finally did it. Well, we have some pictures below of us enjoying our new couch and love seat - would you like pictures of us enjoying our new mattress?!

Now we are saving up to buy a new washer and dryer. Ours are prehistoric. As a matter of fact, yesterday when Kris was here delivering our mattresses she saw them and said "Holy Crap!! How old is your washer and dryer?! It looks just like the ones we had when we were kids!" Too funny - and it probably is. They came with the trailer when we bought it, and they were old then. I think they are a 70's model. It's time. Saving the pennies. We'll put pictures of that in though :o).

Surprise Snow

See, that's the thing about snow. It's so quiet and stealthy that you don't even know when it's falling on you. Jessica opened the door to go to school, and there it was, waiting quietly for us - Bam! There were no school delays or anything, and it's suppose to start raining some time this after noon, but we were surprised.

You know, when I was a kid I remember whole winters would go by without even so much of a trace of snow. Not even one snowflake. It certainly isn't the same world I grew up in - in many ways! Thank goodness for all of this global warming, because I sure hate being cold!

New Couches

Well, here they are. I just couldn't talk Aaron into a sectional, so I just arranged the furniture like a sectional. Ha ha on you Aaron :o). We just picked up ottomans today to go with them so we can chill while watching the tube. Cozy! Plus, they are storage ottomans, so all our tv watching blankets can store up nice when we are not using them!

Maybe Some Day

Well, as I have said before I am going to train for a Triathlon and Half-Marathon this summer. I am super excited to do this. We have a huge group of people doing the Half Marathon together and Jessica and I will be doing the Triathlon, it will be a ton of fun and I can't wait.

So far my training is going ....... terrible! With snow and flooding it's been hard to get out. Then I broke my toe making it really hard to run. And now - well I've been sick with the flu for the past couple of days. All I have done for two days is sleep, read and watch movies. Today the cloud is starting to lift, but not even close to being able to go out and run yet.

Hopefully Monday things will be fresh and I can start up again

Mini Road Trip

It was a sunny weekend, and fairly decent weather so we just wanted to be OUT! On a whim we decided to take a mini road trip and head off to the coast. Jessica already had some plans with her friends, so she didn't come, and we missed having her with us, but had a ton of fun non the less!! I am SO glad we just decided to take off, it was great! An awesome day.

Once we got to Ocean Shores, we stopped off at Subway for some lunch and then headed for the beach. We ate our lunch in the car while watching the waves.

After eating we just strolled a mile or two down the coast and then back. It was a little windy, but always is at the ocean. The weather was amazing though, especially considering it's freaking JANUARY. It was over 60 degrees out. Can you believe it?!!

The waves were quite awesome. We have never been here before in the winter time. It was probably the biggest Pacific Northwest waves we have ever seen. And because the wind was blowing toward the water there was a lot of mist blowing off the top of the waves. It was pretty cool.

I found a whole sand dollar. Yeah!

Aaron and I - I love this pic - Aaron took it.

A carving of a whale we found on some drift wood done by a "chainsaw artist".

No road trip is complete w/o gas station pop!

Just to prove how warm it was today, along with the date and where we were.

Just some of the beautiful scenery along with the nuclear power plant.

Hanging Out With Friends

One thing we have been doing a lot of lately is just hanging out with friends every weekend. Two weekends ago Aaron and I went on a double date with Corrine and Robert to dinner and a movie. The following weekend we went out with Alison and Paul to watch Ben's band "The Boinkers" and do some dancing. This last weekend we got back together with the Foster family to just hang out all day. We ate pizza and brownies, played games and Rockband and watched a movie. It's fun to have friends that you can just hang out with without really anything planned - just hanging out is good enough

Rockin' out with the Fosters

Catching Up

Sorry I haven't been on here for a while. I think we have all just spent the last week trying to get back into routine and real life again after being so out of it from holidays and weather. Plus, with snow and then following with major flooding, it's really been hard to really do much.

Jeff is still looking for a job. Seattle is close to a 10% unemployment rate right now, so jobs are very scarce, and what jobs there are out there have a lot of competition. And, to make things even better, Boeing will be laying off 4,500 people soon. Hopefully this will not effect mom, but who knows! Aaron's job is also looking grimmer and grimmer all of the time as well, so many things are just on hold right now.

I've been working harder than ever to build up the business just in case. It's so hard to know what things are worth spending your money on, and what things are just wasting it along with your time. I guess it's just a trial and error game.

Oh, and I broke my toe the other day by dropping a hammer on it, so yeah me! It makes running a little difficult - I'm only doing about 2 miles a day right now because more than that just becomes too painful.

Speaking of running though, I do have several goals ahead of me to help me get back into shape and something to do with my friends and Jess. In June we are all going to run the Seattle Rock and Roll Half Marathon, and then some time in August we are going to pick a Triathlon to do together. I am training as things will happen, but have let everyone know if money is not there I will have to drop out. Big races like that are expensive and it will be hard to justify that spending. But, hopefully things will work out fine and we will have some major accomplishments this summer! It should be fun.

Also, Aaron has been working hard on getting his own blog put together, and is working on getting all of his poems illustrated and ready for publication. Check it out and leave him some feed back - he'll really like it! (link to the left :o).

That's about it for now.
