Snoqualmie Falls

Since Jess was home for the weekend, we wanted something fun to do. Alex, believe it or not, had never been to Snoqualmie Falls before, so that was the perfect thing to do before Jess went back to school. Even Jeff had the day off and could come with us. It was so fun having our whole family together!! That doesn't happen very often, and I enjoyed my day immensely.

Chrome Molly at Benders

Aaron is still going strong with Chrome Molly and  having a lot of fun with them. We are both really having a lot of fun with this group of people - it's like a Chrome Molly Family.

Band Aid for Books

Every year Chrome Molly does a benefit "concert" for Scenic Hill Elementary school where Chris works. He used to be the librarian (before they cut all library funding and he had to go back to being a teacher) and the library was in desperate need of money, since apparently the district things the libraries are not worth spending their money on...... go literacy!

Anyhoo.... they put on a little show every year for the kids. They sell tickets to the event, have pizza and soda for sale, have huge raffle baskets and do a donation basket to "raise money" to get certain teachers to do a dance off. It's amazing how into the band the kids get! They are totally enamored with them and really look at Chris as a total Rock Star. I would be willing to bet he is one of those teachers that all the kids want to have. They raised almost $2,000 this year!

Jess even came home this weekend to go, since Aaron was finally having a gig she could attend. Hang in there Jess - there will be a lot you can go to this summer!

 

What A Waste Of Time!

Let's see. It's 10:30 a.m. and here is what I have done today.... 

• Got up and made Aaron's lunch and got him out of the house.
• Ate breakfast and sipped a tea while massaging my plantar fasciitis on a golf ball
• Updated my blog background - yea! It's finally not Easter on here any more
• Updated all of my posts. I have taken to blogging like Amy - 10 posts at a time, because I just don't have time to post as things happen.
• Uploaded a bunch of pictures onto FB
• Wrote on friends walls and made comments on FB (I usually am never really on FB longer than a few minutes at a time, but was on there for a while this morning)
• Got caught up on my FS blog... blogging takes SO much time! But I got three posts put up this morning to catch up for the week.
• Sipped some more tea
• Made a weekly menu and grocery shopping list
• Thought about exercising (do you burn calories if you think about it? I guess not or we would all be super skinny - lol ;o)
• and now here I sit writing this post

This is how I have spent the last.... 3 HOURS.... of my day. It's amazing how fast time goes! No wonder I have a hard time getting to everything, because before you know it you have wasted three hours! However, I can say without any hesitation, that it felt good to just sit and relax this morning! I haven't had a morning like this in a really long time. I am usually up and running the second I wake up (sometimes quite literally), and don't slow my brain down until my head hits the pillow at night.

My schooling has been much harder than I was anticipating. Sometimes I really feel like I am not smart enough to remember all of the terms, body parts and physiologies that are thrown at me at a neck breaking pace. I feel over my head, inadequate and wonder if I'm going to make it and do well. Aaron has complete faith in me, and I continue to plug along at the "recommended time line", but yikes! Am I just not as smart as the "average" person taking these courses? I'm sure many of them are working, or stay at home moms, or busy people just like me: that is why a home course like this is so popular.

I'm sure as I go along with the studies things will continue to click, that is why I keep forging forward as instructed. I am having faith that the people who designed the program knew what they were doing and wanted their students to succeed, so I am trying very hard not to panic. Why is it so easy for insecurities to settle in?

As much as I have enjoyed this morning, and sitting here in front of my computer with  my tea, I suppose I better get off my but and going with my day. But, at least I am caught up with things now.

Double Cross Comittee at Benders

After the roller derby, Aaron and I went down to watch Jay's band - Double Cross Committee play. I took my camera, and it was kind of fun taking pictures of a different band for a change. Chrome Molly is still my favorite, but it was nice to have a different bunch of faces to look at at the other end of the lens. It is always fun to watch a band with Aaron too, since usually he's up on stage.

Roller Derby

Our white trash weekend continued today with a trip to the roller derby. Aaron and I haven't been to see the Rat City Roller Girls in about two years, so we drug our friends Dave and Michelle with us and went to watch the Mayhem. 

It wasn't quite as fun as it was in years past, but we had a great time hanging out with friends, and that was good enough for us!

 

Monster Truck Rally

It was kind of a white trash weekend for Aaron and I. We started out the weekend with the monster truck rally. Neither of us had ever been to one before, and they were selling discount tickets, so we figured what the heck....

Well, we both found it quite boring to be honest. At first it was kind of cool, then it just became more of the same. We looked at each other wondering if they were ever going to do anything different, but it was pretty much the same for an entire hour. We can at least say "been there done that" now.

The had a car show going on in the same area as the Monster Tucks, so we did have a lot of fun walking around looking at all of the cool cars.

The most fun we had however, was walking around after the show. It was at the Puyallup fair grounds as part of the Spring fair. Even though we didn't ride any rides or anything, it was a decent evening and I was having a bunch of fun taking pictures of all the night life at fair. I think I just love being with Aaron, and it really doesn't matter to me what we do.

 

Bike Ride To The Lake

We actually got a nice weekend this weekend, so after I got done working Aaron and I got on our bikes and rode to the lake. It was so nice to just be outside in the nice weather!! I could take more weekends like this for sure.

 

Chrome Molly at Jack's

I showed up to the gig early with Aaron, since he had to set up, and sat at one of the tables eating  yummy chicken strips and french fries, sipped on my diet soda and studied Fundamentals of Applied Kinesiology. It was actually kind of peaceful just sitting in the corner eating and reading my book.

We were a little worried about this gig because the bar was so quiet, but around 9:30 people started coming in and by 10:00 it was a rockin' place. It wasn't a super huge crowd per se, but the people who were there were really into the show and the dance floor was full. Brett even came to hang out again. It was super fun!!!

There are a couple of songs that the band has been having fun with, and have started pegging their show as the "stunt and variety show". They always do the pyramid for one of their stunts and Chris pulled out some balls and juggled them. Each week is a little different which gives people a reason to come ;o) Aaron, in the spirit of entertainment, bought these aviator goggles for "safety during all stunts". It's quite a fun time.

I had to work the next day, so I left early. I don't know why I bothered however, as I can't really go to sleep until  Aaron gets home anyway. I guess in the future I'll just stay and suck it up the next day. It's only once in a while, and if I'm going to be awake anyway, might as well be together. Thank goodness they don't have too many Friday gigs!

Happy Birthday Aaron!!

Since Jess was home for Easter we decided to celebrate Aaron's birthday then, so that she could be part of the festivities. Just part of what made it a great day.

Aaron got a lot of good things for his birthday: Jess got him a couple of t-shirts, Jeff got him some yummy pumpkin pie ice cream, Alex got him a fun "finger guitar", I got him a kindle touch some silver wear and Thor and mom got him a gift certificate for his Kindle. Nice: what a haul.

 

Tradition! Every year Aaron gets a hug from Alex - one second for every year. This year was a whopping 44 second hug! Aaah, so cute!

 

Easter!!!

We had a REALLY great Easter this year! We were all home and had Alex, Damon and Grandma were all over with us. It felt so good to have my whole family around me and the weather was amazing! It was the perfect day.

 

All the kids got Nerf guns in their baskets so they went out and had a fun battle. It was cute to watch them act like little children.
