Little Caesars Picnic

Jeff and I were home together today with nothing to do, and it was beautiful outside. We really wanted to be out, especially after having snow just yesterday. (Weird!). But, neither of us really had much money. So, we went to 7-11 and got Big Gulps, to Little Caesars and got a $5 pizza and went to the lake for a "picnic" It was way fun, and not bad feeding us both lunch for only $8! I love hanging out with my kids!!

I'm a Big Girl Now!!

I have a very bad habit of dropping things and breaking them. We have drinking mugs that hang on the bottom of our cupboard so we don't dirty 20 glasses a day. I have gone through three of them thus far - today being the third one I have broken now. So, while I was working tonight, everyone in the family went out to buy me a nice new mug. Here it is hanging with all the other big people cups..... my own little plastic Gerber Graduates cup which "makes the transition to cups easy!" and you can "develop skills without spills". Now I can be a big girl!

Family Pictures

Alison was using us as a "Model Family" to try out some new techniques, equipment and demo pictures for a new look she wants to ad to her portfolio. It was fun going out and having some fun taking more urban looking pictures downtown. Here are my favorites.

Snoqualmie Falls

Since Aaron is now forced to take Monday's off and it's Presidents Day, everyone was home. It was sunny and beautiful outside, so outside is where we wanted to be. So, on a whim we just took off to the falls.

The rest of the following pics are just at the bottom of the falls.. You know, the place where all the signs tell you NOT to go but where EVERYONE is - that place. The new phrase of the day is "Blogtarded". Everyone thinks I take too many pictures and am too into blogging, so they were calling me "Blogtarded".

Amy is in this picture. She happened to call me while we were hiking so I held the phone out and told her to smile. She yelled cheese.

Only in Snoqualmie, and maybe Issaquah, would you find a frickin' gas station with a rock fireplace and a wine rack. Okay?!

Our 20th Anniversary

Today was the day, 20 years of marriage. Time goes by SO fast!! We had a wonderful day today. Aaron took it off so we got to be together all day. In lieu of Aaron's job we decided to just keep things simple instead of taking off for the weekend like originally planned.

We started off with a great run together in the cold cold sunshine, but sunshine non the less. It was nice. Then we showered and went out to breakfast to the Wild Wheat, one of our favorite places for breakfast. We just hung out the rest of the day, saw the movie Coraline and did a little shopping. Then we came home, gussied up and went to Olive Garden for dinner. It was super yummy.

The funny thing is, we got each other the same gift - a Shutterfly book of our lives together. Aaron's was better, it was awesome!

It was a great day.

Our Dating Years

We only have two more days until our 20TH ANNIVERSARY! I can't believe it. But, on the other hand, it's really hard to remember life much without Aaron, nor would I ever want it that way.

If you take into consideration that we dated for four years before we got married, we have been in each others lives for nearly a quarter of a century. We have been married longer than we have not. Pretty amazing. And the cool thing is, we still like each other!

I have spent a week or so getting pictures of us ready for a gift I made for Aaron, that won't be here in time (oh well, and I just gave it away :o). I really wanted to share what I have been working on. These are some of our pictures from our dating years. Hopefully you will have fun looking at them, and for most of you remembering these times with us.

Job Updates

Jeff ended up getting offers at both places he interviewed with. He went with the Theater because there is a possible opportunity for him to move up to management in about 6 months. A little better pay, and looks better on a resume for the future. He should find out today when he starts.

On the flip side, Aaron's job is making cuts. We have lost our 401K matching, and they are moving to 4 day work weeks, so we will be losing a whole days wages each week. Insurance will be the next thing to go, but hopefully it won't move to that!!!

As you all know, Jeff has been out of work for two months now. He has been looking, but no one around here is hiring and most are laying off. He finally got desperate and stated applying to fast food joints, but even most of them are not hiring right now. It's super tough.

Finally fortune is smiling on Jeff. He has two interviews this weekend. Yup - two. They're not the best jobs in the world but they are jobs non the less. One is today at Dairy Queen and the other is tomorrow back at his old theater. He is pretty confident about both and I think would rather be at the theater. He is hoping since he has already put in over a year with them he can get into management soon.

We'll keep you posted on how things go for him.

Jessi With Her Grandpa

Jessica has always been a little sad that there is only one picture of her and her grandpa. Of course there are several pictures of him with all his grandkids, but only one with just Jess.

The other day my mom brought me over two huge boxes of pictures to go through to see what I would like to have. Most of them were older pictures of her, dad, their families and even further back (it's definitely a treasure trove!) Guess what we found - another picture of just Jessi with her grandpa. She was so excited. I just spent the evening scanning it in and restoring it for her. I'm glad we were able to find this. Thanks Mom!!

Superbowl

We spent Sunday afternoon hanging out at the Fosters just eating, visiting and watching the Superbowl. It made football so much more fun, and I have to say that it was the fastest Superbowl I've ever watched :o). It was a pretty decent game as well - the 100 yard run was pretty intense, and it was a good ending to a game. We had a lot of fun.
