Jess's First Outing

Jess has had a rough go of it. She had a very long and laborious tooth extraction, followed by dry socket, along with her TMJ locking her jaw shut. She has lived on a steady diet of 7-UP, soup and pudding and is so sick of drinking her food I think she is going to throw something at me.

We decided to give McDonald's a try. Hey, it's kid food - nice and bland and super processed which makes it pretty soft. She just got a Happy Meal to start for just a small amount of food.

I'm so proud of her, she ate the whole thing. She is such a big girl - well, sort of ;o).

Post Sickness Hike

I am finally starting to feel a little human again, and the sun is shining. I am still pretty stuffy, and if I do too much I get tired very quickly, but I am at least functioning again.  With that, Aaron and I decided to head out for a little bit and get some fresh air.

We discovered a very nice, extremely under utilized park one day on a bike ride and decided to grab a Frisbee and give it a try. Behind said park there is a huge protected wetland with trails running through it and huge bird watch towers. A nice summer walk did me good, and it was fun to discover a new place.

It's amazing how much is in your own home town that you don't even know about! We need to go exploring more often.

111.5 Pounds?!

I had to laugh this morning as I was reminded of a quote from "The Devil Wears Prada" - "I am one stomach flu away from my ideal weight". Well, that is apparently the case with me. Three days of the flu has gotten me only one pound away from the weight I have been chasing for months now. I haven't seen this number on the scale since...................well, I can't even tell you because I don't remember.
