Jeff's Graduation Open House

Thanks to all those who have given Jeff your love and support with being at his open house, sending letters and words of encouragement and congratulations,  and with your phone calls. We had a great time and he was really feeling grateful to have such great friends and family members around supporting him.

Along with all of your generous contributions to the poor college student fund, Jess got Jeff a couple of books that he has really been wanting lately.

So, your kid graduates from college, what do you get him? Well, a doll of course!!! His real present is a trip to the ocean for a week, but we couldn't resist this little treasure that we found at the Star Wars store in Aberdeen a couple of weeks ago. An original Boba Fett "Action Figure" (it sounds more manly that way) from 1978. He is missing his rocket pack, but other than that is in amazing condition.

Jeffery's Senior Presentation

Every quarter, the graduating seniors at the Art Institute have a senior presentation day. They have to set up a booth show casing their work and then prospective employers have a chance to walk around and see what they have.

Jeff has been working hard on his presentation in preparation to this. One of the things he did, as his big eye catcher, was put a lot of his tradition art in a slide show on a VHS tape and then ran it through the old school black and white TV we had in the shed. It was a huge hit. With the exception of maybe one or two booths, Jeff's was the best idea there.

Cross your fingers! There might even be an opportunity for him to get a paid internship from a contact he made at the presentation. That would be so great! Go get em' Jeff!!!

I Love Summer!

And boy have we been having an amazing summer so far..... I guess technically it's not summer yet, we have 11 more days till it's official, but thus far things are not looking great. We have beat records for rainfall and low temperatures, and Wednesday we have officially beat the record for the longest it has taken in a year to reach 75 degrees, which we have not yet achieved.

 Pretty typical day around here!

 It was raining so hard that within about 10 minutes the streets were flooded

 Crap!! And I had to deposit my checks. NOT FUN!!

 

Ocean Shores

We decided about two weeks ago that we were going to drive to Ocean Shores for the kite festival this weekend. Sunday seemed like a good day, since we had all day with nothing to do..... ugh! another crappy day in the PNW! Getting super old around here for sure!

Well, we decided to grab life by the balls and go anyway. As we headed out it was raining, but I just brought a change of clothes and was determined to walk in the wake, even if it was in the rain!

 

Every time we make this drive, we see the sign on the side of the highway for a Star Wars store, and every year we decide we are going to try and find it. Well, this year we actually stumbled upon in by accident. As we drove into Aberdeen the guy happened to have a Boba Fett and Princes Leigh sitting outside the store that drew our attention. Yea!! The only bad part, Jeff wasn't with us this time :o(. It's a fun store, and we can't wait till next time we go with Jeff.

While in town we noticed all of this art around. Kind of like the pigs used to be in Seattle. I don't know what you would call this  kind of art other than metal art, but it was certainly interesting. Some if it was cool, most of it disturbing, but all of it interesting. Aaron got pics of all of it.

Oh yes, and all of this amongst the Adult Video store located in conjunction with the Faith House Church.......?

We took our time getting to the Ocean, with it being rainy and all. You know what they say, it's not the destination, but the journey. Well, we were just enjoying the journey. We did finally get to the ocean though, and by that time it was not raining any more. We even saw a few blue patches in they sky. Yes! Procrastination pays off once again!

I even got to walk in the surf like I wanted! Loved it. The only downer to that was everywhere we looked there were thousands of these little, teeny-tiny fish. Every time the tide would go back out we would get about 10-20 of those little guys on our feet. Of course they would be wriggling around trying to get back into the water. It was kind of disturbing to me. After a while I just quite walking in the water. I have NEVER seen anything like it before.

We decided to go into this souvenir shop on the way to dinner. How can you not? You get to walk in a sharks mouth!

We went out for pizza after a fun day hanging out. We decided to play a few arcade games while we waited for the pizza to get done. Boy, I haven't played pinball in forever! It was fun.

I was really glad we just decided to go despite the weather. We ended up having a great time. The only thing that would have made it better is if Jeff could have come. But, I suppose I have to get used to doing things without my whole family along. Pretty soon it will just be Aaron and I. I'm just glad that Jess and Alex could come. We had a ton of fun hanging out with them!

Fort Casey

Saturday, after I got done working, we decided to take off on a drive for the day. Mom was one of the last clients I had, and the sun was shining, so we just got in the car and drove up to Fort Casey. Long drive, but beautiful day and good company, and Aaron has been wanting to go up there for a while now.

While we were looking out over the Sound, Aaron heard a rumbling, and was trying to find out where it was coming from. All of the sudden a B-49 bomber flew right over the top of us. This was the best pic I could get, but it was pretty cool!

We carried mom's lawn chair with us so she could rest whenever she needed to. That helped her enjoy the park longer I think.

Aaron kept trying to get mom to salute, but she was too embarrassed to.

Until I went over and did it with her, then she was fine :o)

 But, dang it, I stayed happy!

Okay, mom almost lost a lung over this one, so we had to take a pic and include it in here. I had to pee REALLY BADLY! We saw some KYBO's by the visitors center so stopped to use them. She just about died when she saw the name of the company. Too funny. But even funnier than the name was watching her laugh over it. I love to watch her laugh and have a good time!!!
