Yesterday we had the most beautiful red sun all day. A little bit of Google research told us it was because of some wild fires they were having in British Columbia. As the sun started to go down in the evening it continued to get more and more red, so when we got home we decided to get the telescope out and take a closer look.
It was SO amazing! We stood out in the street watching it go down with the telescope. Of course that drew a crowd and a bunch of us were out there. Then Jay Clement had this great idea of getting the camera, putting it on Micro setting, and trying to take a picture of it through the lenses. Whala! What a great idea! It even picked up the sun spot and everything.
