On our way home we stopped by Goblin Valley. We were excited about this stop because we are very huge "Galaxy Quest" fans and we wanted to see where the alien planet scene was filmed. WOW! It is so amazing you could spend hours just exploring these crevices but in lieu of almost loosing Jess the day before to heat stroke, we didn't want to stay too long and get her too hot again.
The front half of the park is full of these little toadstool type rocks. As you walk through you feel like you are in Whoville or something. It's really cool.
As you walk back past the "toadstools" the rocks get really tall, almost like a rock city. It is so surreal you totally feel like you are on an alien planet.
Okay, this is super funny. So, as I was showing these pictures to Amy and Scott when we got back I said "Don't tell me God doesn't have a sense of humor. Some of these rocks are so....." Right after I said that Tyler said "It looks like a naughty spot!" It was SO FUNNY!!!!!
This is the area were "Galaxy Quest" was filmed. Right here in the front is where Jason was fighting the pig lizard. Way fun!
